Sharper vs. Favre. Who wins?

Former Vikings safety gets his grudge match. But he's facing a different Favre.

One of the most intriguing storylines in Sunday's NFC title game is former Packer teammates Brett Favre and Darren Sharper going at it 12 seasons after they last went to the Super Bowl. Sharper was a rookie that year, when the Packers lost to the Broncos in the Super Bowl.

Sharper made it no secret that he wants to face his former teammate, and the Vikings' franchise he played four seasons for before leaving via free agency after last season. The Vikings showed no interest in retaining Sharper, who, at 33, went on to have an All-Pro season with nine picks, three for touchdowns, this season.

"You know who I want, you know who I want," Sharper kept repeating when asked which team he'd prefer to face.

Sharper vs. Favre is a tough matchup to predict. Favre has played brilliantly this season. If this game was at the Metrodome, I would give the edge to Favre in a heartbeat. Favre has only two picks at the Metrodome. Sharper is a gambler who wins a lot, but also loses his fair share.

At the Superdome, the Saints' defense could use the crowd noise to its advantage. Under pressure, Favre could throw a ball that Sharper will get to. I'd call the showdown a toss up at the Superdome.
