A man was critically wounded in a shooting early Saturday morning in Shakopee, police say, and no suspect has been identified.

The Shakopee Police Department said officers responded to a weapons complaint on Grove Drive at 3:13 a.m. and found a 40-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds and life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis and remains in critical condition as of Saturday morning.

“We do not believe this was a random act, and there is no danger to the surrounding area,” Shakopee police said in a statement. “Because this is an active fluid investigation, we are unable to release any further information at this time.”

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting at the crime scene. Anyone with information about the incident should contact Shakopee authorities.
