The Gophers are "beat up a little bit," according to coach Jerry Kill, but should have most of their roster available against Western Michigan on Saturday.
The coach said Wednesday that backup cornerback Martez Shabazz and starting center Zach Mottla "got banged up" in practice on Tuesday and suffered undisclosed injuries, "so they're questionable." But the Gophers announced no updated injury report on Thursday.
Freshman receiver Andre McDonald has recovered from an infection in his knee, apparently caused by a "turf burn" suffered during the season-opening victory in Las Vegas, and should be ready to play, the coach said. "We didn't know anything about that one until (last) Tuesday," Kill said. "Then his knee swelled up."
McDonald was held out of Saturday's game with New Hampshire partly as a precaution, Kill said, and partly because he had not practiced much during the week. But he was back in action this week.
