A survey of 1,311 young Minnesota adults on their most recent sexual encounter found that:
• 80 percent said it was with a committed partner.
• 20 percent said it was with a casual partner.
• The two groups reported similar levels of emotional health and self-esteem.
• 29 percent of men and 14 percent of women said their last sexual encounter was casual.
