Severe thunderstorms and flooding will affect part of Southeast Asia on Sunday. The worst weather is expected across parts of India, Bangladesh and Myanmar.

The setup is somewhat similar to what happens in the United States duringspring. Cool air from China will meet very warm and humid air from the IndianOcean. This clash of air masses will trigger the strong to severethunderstorms. There could even be tornadoes.

Water temperatures in the Bay of Bengal are already in the middle to upper 80s.

Water that warm provides an incredibly large amount of energy to thunderstorms.

The jet stream will be strong enough to get the storms to develop.

Severe weather will also be possible Monday and Tuesday across the same areas.

Flooding has recently occurred in the area. Several people drowned Friday inflooding near the border of India and Bangladesh.
