The parent weather system that began to trigger thunderstorms on the Plainslast Thursday will shift eastward on Monday. The outbreak of thunderstorms willthus shift to the Eastern Seaboard. A few of the thunderstorms erupting onMonday over the eastern Carolinas, eastern Virginia, Delaware and easternMaryland will be strong enough to unleash bursts of damaging wind and hail.There will also be torrential downpours amounting to an inch or more of rainwithin an hour.
