Severe Thunderstorms into Tuesday Night

Two regions will be hot spots into Tuesday night for thunderstorms threateningdamaging wind and hail: the greater Ohio Valley and the southern High Plains.Tropical warmth and humidity bathing the midsection will spark thunderstorms, afew of them severe, in a corridor spanning mostly parts of Indiana, Ohio,Illinois and Kentucky. Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Louisville will numberamong the cities in this threat area.

Here, the primary severe weather threat will be that of damaging winds,although large hail will be possible with the strongest storms as well.

Flooding downpours cannot be ruled out.

In and near western Texas, widely separated powerful thunderstorms willthreaten destructive winds and large hail. Amarillo, Lubbock and Midland couldget such storms. This area could also have localized flooding downpours.
