Severe Thunderstorm Threat Today

Severe storms are shifting east today into the lower Mississippi Valley, thecentral Gulf coast and portions of the Tennessee Valley. Nashville, Montgomery,Mobil, Pensacola and Atlanta could all endure feisty storms by the evening.Threats with the storms will be damaging winds up to 60 mph and hail thesize of quarters. Isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Flash flooding willbe a problem over some locales, especially in cities and along rivers andstreams. The heaviest rainfall will be between 1.0-2.0 inches with a fewlocales receiving 3.0 inches.
