Severe storms are shifting east today into the lower Mississippi Valley, the central Gulf coast and portions of the Tennessee Valley. Nashville, Montgomery, Mobil, Pensacola and Atlanta could all endure feisty storms by the evening.

Threats with the storms will be damaging winds up to 60 mph and hail the size of quarters. Isolated tornadoes cannot be ruled out. Flash flooding will be a problem over some locales, especially in cities and along rivers and streams. The heaviest rainfall will be between 1.0-2.0 inches with a few locales receiving 3.0 inches.
