The focus for an outbreak of strong thunderstorms that began on Saturday over the southern United States will shift eastward overnight and on Sunday.

Overnight, eastern Oklahoma through central Texas including Dallas-Fort Worth will be at greatest risk of severe thunderstorms. Southeastern Texas in and about Houston will also be prone to severe thunderstorms. Destructive winds and hail will threaten.

As the instigating low pressure rolls eastward, the clash of factors along and eastward from the lower Mississippi Valley will spark a few severe thunderstorms on Sunday over Tennessee, Mississippi and small stretches of neighboring states. Severe weather threats on Sunday will stem from damaging winds, large hail and even a few tornadoes.
