The first of two severe weather episodes will strike this later today fromwestern Kansas through western Texas. While not expected to be a major producer of severe weather, a number ofthunderstorms could become severe with hail and damaging winds. The tornadothreat this afternoon and evening will be limited, but that's not to say thatone or two could not occur, especially in the Texas Panhandle.

Thunderstorms will remain widely separated and gradually diminish throughthe evening in most areas, though a few clusters may persist in westernOklahoma where a more favorable environment exists.

To the north and east, from Nebraska through central Kansas, thunderstormswill move in around or after midnight. These storms are not expected to besevere, however.
