Settle down fans of B96's Tone E Fly.

The morning show was taken off the air more than a week ago, but word is that it will return Wednesday. The whole station was dismantled last week. My guess is that this will all be explained today during a 3 p.m. announcement, during which station officials will also discuss the signal being upgraded with a new transmitter. ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz.

"I was pulled off the air because I started going down a road they didn't want to go down yet; talking about the transmitter and all the signal issues," Tone E told me today. "Wednesday at 9 a.m. we're going to be interviewing Sam, my program director, so he can explain why taking us off the air makes everything better."

The new rating system, personal people meters (as opposed to the diary method), has not been friendly to the format of this morning show starring Tone E., B Right and Danni Starr. Last month, the buzz was that the current problem with B96's ratings was related to the signal needing an upgrade.

Lots of stations are having problems with the new ratings system.

Taking them off the air is one way to generate buzz, isn't it?
