Pelfrey is 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA in his career at U.S. Cellular Field. … In his past four starts, Tommy Milone has lasted five innings only once. … The Twins went 10-9 against the White Sox last year and have lost the season series to Chicago only once since 2005. They were 5-5 at U.S. Cellular Field last year and are 200-210 all-time in Chicago’s 24-year-old home park. … Torii Hunter’s next game will be his 1,237th as a Twin, moving him past Bob Allison and into ninth place in Minnesota history.

Chris Sale (pictured), third in Cy Young voting last year, will make his first start since suffering an avulsion fracture in his right foot in February after landing awkwardly while unloading his truck. … Jeff Sam-ardzija, a former All-Star with the Cubs, was acquired for minor leaguers in a trade with Oakland last December. … The White Sox also signed OF Melky Cabrera and 1B Adam LaRoche during the off-season. … The White Sox lost three all games at Kansas City to open their season, giving up 21 runs.
