TWINS UPDATE

They are 8-14 since the All-Star break and have lost six of their past nine road games. ... They are 9-18 against the AL West and 5-9 on the road. ... When this series is over, they will have only 17 road games remaining, and 26 at home. ... They went 5-1 against Houston last season and are 16-10 all-time, including 4-2 at Minute Maid Park, but they lost two of three to the Astros at Target Field in June. ... 1B Joe Mauer is expected to return to the lineup after missing 41 days with a strained oblique muscle. ... LHP Tommy Milone, acquired July 31 in a trade with Oakland, will make his Twins debut on Monday. He gave up four runs in 6⅓ innings at Houston in April and is 1-1 with a 4.78 ERA in five career starts against the Astros.

ASTROS UPDATE

They are 28-34 at home but had won five straight there before losing Sunday to Texas. They are 9-8 with the roof open but just 17-26 when it is closed. ... They are on pace to win 68 games this season, after winning only 56, 55 and 51 the past three seasons. ... CF Dexter Fowler (strained intercostal) and RF George Springer (strained left quad) might return to action during this series; both have been on rehab assignments the past few days. ... All-Star 2B Jose Altuve missed Saturday's game with a sore neck and is day-to-day. ... The Astros have hit 20 home runs in their past 14 games and rank third in the AL with 128 homers. ... They rank 12th in the AL in runs scored and 13th in runs allowed.
