Escobar has started five games at shortstop and is 9-for-18 in those games. ... Joe Mauer with two hits on Tuesday passed Bucky Harris for 19th on the Senators/Twins all-time hit list with 1,295. ...Watch Pedro Hernandez's start Saturday. He needs to mix in curveballs early in the count.

RANGERS UPDATE

Twins fans will get to see a couple of Rangers prospects this week in Tepesch and Grimm. Grimm is ranked as the fifth-best Rangers prospect by Baseball America and is owner of the best curveball in the farm system. ...Veteran starters Colby Lewis (flexor pronator surgery) and Matt Harrison (inflamed nerve in lower back) are on the disabled list.
