Senate recount trial, day 28

March 5, 2009 at 3:06AM

• Democrat Al Franken's side called a number of witnesses, including state elections director Gary Poser and Ramsey County elections chief Joe Mansky. Franken's lawyers tried to make the case that no election is perfect but that this one was well run. Republican Norm Coleman's side has suggested the election was so flawed that it may be impossible to declare a winner.

• Coleman lawyer Joe Friedberg sought to show that errors may have wrongly cost a number of people their right to vote.

• Franken's side said it will file a motion today seeking dismissal of parts of the case.

• The trial resumes at 9 a.m. today.
