A 20-year-old Minneapolis man has been charged in Ramsey County District Court in connection with a St. Paul home invasion in August.

Derrean Darnell Hogan is charged with two counts of aiding and abetting first-degree aggravated robbery and one count of aiding an offender.

According to the criminal complaint, a couple were attacked by three assailants as they entered their apartment building in the 1700 block of Norfolk Avenue about 1 a.m. on Aug. 26. They were robbed at gunpoint, and two of the men made the 54-year-old male victim drive to a cash machine to withdraw more money. The 53-year-old woman told police that one of the men raped her during that time, the complaint said.

Kimanie Markeys Carter, 24, was charged this month with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, two counts of aiding and abetting kidnapping, and two counts of aiding and abetting first-degree aggravated robbery in connection with the attack.

Hogan also is charged in Hennepin County District Court with aggravated robbery, assault and burglary in connection with a Minneapolis home invasion that occurred the same night as the St. Paul incident.

Minneapolis police later tried to stop a vehicle that matched the description of the one involved in the St. Paul attack. After a brief chase, they tracked Hogan to a home in the 2600 block of Emerson Avenue N. and found the cellphones of the St. Paul victims in the car, the complaint said.
