The Sebeka boys' basketball team reached the state tournament last year for the first time in history, and it looks like the Trojans boys' and girls' teams could make long postseason runs this year.

The boys are 19-1 and ranked third in Class 1A while the girls are 18-3. Three members of the girls team have scored 1,000 career points, as have two boys. The girls are Betsy Olson, Bridget Martini and Jessica Lillquist; the boys are Joey Cuperus and Alex Brockpahler. Lillquist is the daughter of boys' coach Jon Lillquist.

Three other boys, all juniors, are between 758 and 884 career points; Cody Pulju, John Clark and Ryan Sharp. Cuperus also has 941 rebounds.
