Seaworthy styles look see-worthy

Seafoam green was the color of the night at Sunday's Emmy awards as the red carpet looked more like an ocean floor with blue and green gowns galore.

The splash of color brought bona fide fashion credibility to the Nokia Theatre and set the bar high for the start of the awards season.

Newly engaged Sofia Vergara was sparkling from head to toe, and Heidi Klum looked every bit a goddess in her Alexandre Vauthier gown with super-high leg slits.

The duo helped steer the stars away from their usual play-it-safe neutral tones, and instead fueled a trend toward color. Much appreciated, ladies. Thank you.

Other stars wearing bright, bold colors: Ginnifer Goodwin in a cherry red lace cutout by Monique Lhuillier, pregnant Claire Danes in a strapless draped canary yellow number, and Zooey Deschanel in an icy blue Reem Acra princess gown.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
