Tickets to Minnesota Vikings-Green Bay Packers game in Minneapolis will be tougher than ever this year.

The rivalry will be the first regular season NFL game at the new U.S. Bank Stadium, although the Vikings play two preseason games before the inaugural showdown Sept. 18.

According to SeatGeek, a national ticket reseller, three regular season games will double the Vikings previous average resale high.

SeatGeek started tracking the market in 2010. The most expensive game so far was a game that season against the Packers with tickets reselling for an average of $198.

Tickets for the Packers game on Sept. 18 are going for double that price.

The average resale price of seats for the inaugural game against the Packers: $407. The game features the border rivalry and usually draws lots of fans wearing cheeseheads.

The border battle's extra allure this year is the new building and a Vikings team that fans hope is on the rise.

At 10 a.m. Wednesday, single-game tickets will go on sale through Ticketmaster. Some 4,000 tickets remain for each game. The building seats 66,200, but the overwhelming majority of seats went to season ticketholders.

SeatGeek reports that other Vikings' home games are selling at prices above previous highs.

To get into the home game against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, Dec. 1, buyers are paying an average of $274 per ticket.

Tickets to the Monday Night Football game against the New York Giants on Oct. 3 are reselling for an average of $200. That's the second regular season game in the new building.
