Chisago County authorities reported no progress Sunday in the search for a 27-year-old Oakdale woman.
Danielle Jelinek has been missing since last week.
A candlelight vigil for Jelinek is planned for 6:30 p.m. Monday at Five Oaks Church in Woodbury. Volunteers and professionals spent most of last week looking for Jelinek around Chisago Lake Township. The area is about a mile from the home of the last person to see her, Aaron Schnagl, 28, with whom she had a stormy relationship.
Schnagl is considered a person of interest in the case, the Sheriff's Office has said. Search warrant documents reveal allegations of past physical abuse of Jelinek by Schnagl. The documents also show Schnagl, while giving different accounts of the circumstances of Jelinek's disappearance, acknowledged having a physical altercation with her before she was reported missing.
One search turned up a bloodstained paper towel, paper towels apparently soaked in bleach and several bloodstains that were removed from Schnagl's home in the 11200 block of 261st St., in a small, rural subdivision. Two reddish stains were also found in Schnagl's SUV. That evidence has been sent to the state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for analysis, along with other items. A septic tank on Schnagl's property was drained and inspected.
