TFD: Super Bowl champion Seahawks land at MSP after flight diverted

Good times

Ah, just imagine it now. The Super Bowl champs, having played the game of their lives on the biggest stage to bring a city its first NFL title, return to the airport as heroes.

On Monday, they did just that, touching down at Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport.

Ah, it's the cruelest of teases. A day after a team wins the Super Bowl, the champs are here. But they aren't the Vikings. The Seahawks' charter flight home was diverted to the MSP Airport, reportedly for refueling.

We were following the flight here, and this Tweet from a Washington TV station confirmed it. The charter flight was originally slated to go directly from Newark to Seattle/Tacoma.

We can't imagine why they would get off the plane -- it's slated to take off again at 5 p.m. bound for Seattle -- but just know Percy Harvin, Tarvaris Jackson, Sidney Rice and Co. returned to Minnesota as Super Bowl champs.

Even the trophy is on the flight.
