Twins: Trevor Plouffe doubled to right off Chicago starter Jeff Samardzija. Oswaldo Arcia grounded out to second, Plouffe went to third. Chris Herrmann tripled to right, scoring Plouffe. Shane Robinson singled to right, scoring Herrmann. Jordan Schafer struck out. Robinson stole second and ran to third on catcher Geovany Soto's throwing error. Danny Santana singled to left, scoring Robinson. Brian Dozier doubled to left, scoring Santana.

Chicago: Adam LaRoche homered to left-center off Twins starter Mike Pelfrey. Avisail Garcia hit a ground-rule double to right. Alexei Ramirez grounded out to second, Garcia advanced to third. Conor Gillaspie singled to left-center, scoring Garcia.
