Scorching Heat for the South and Plains

A large ridge of high pressure will result in a pattern of continuing heat andhumidity from the Plains into the Southeast over the weekend.Widespread 90-degree high temperatures are expected from Texas, Oklahoma andKansas eastward into South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. A few areas will evenreach 100 degrees with the best chance across northern Texas.

Dew points between 65 and 75 degrees will cause it feel even hotter than theactual high temperatures.

This heat will continue on Sunday and into early next week as the ridge of highpressure remains centered over the region.
