Scofield, Lovano headline 12th Twin Cities Jazz Festival

Free jazz fest is set for three nights in June in downtown St. Paul.

John Scofield The 12th annual Twin Cities Jazz Festival will feature John Scofield, Sean Jones and Joe Lovano. The free festival is set for June 17-19 in Mears Park in downtown St. Paul as well as a handful of area nightclubs. Vocalist Pippi Ardennia, a transplant from Chicago, headlines on June 17 while saxophonist Joe Lovano and trumpeter Sean Jones will be featured on June 18, and guitar great John Scofield & the Piety Street Band, saxophonist John Ellis & Double-Wide (featuring drummer Jason Marsalis) and saxophonist Bobby Watson will star on June 19. Also booked are Mary Louise Knutson, Atlantis Quartet, Connie Evingson with the Parisota Hot Club and Jon Weber Trio, among others. More performers will be announced later at www.twincitiesjazzfestival.com.
