Workshop for parents of special ed students The Robbinsdale School District will host a workshop for parents of students with disabilities about its special education services at 7 p.m. April 24 at the New Hope Learning Center, 8301 47th Av. N., New Hope.

District officials will provide details about the importance of parent involvement at Individual Education Plan (IEP) meetings, areas where regular and special education instruction intersect, and other information.

Financial assistance for Lutheran school Prince of Peace Lutheran School in Spring Lake Park has received a gift of more than $35,000 to be used for partial scholarships for new students coming to the K-8 school next year.

Twenty $1,000 scholarships for kindergarten through sixth-grade students and 10 $1,500 scholarships for seventh- and eighth- grade students are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Call Sandie Miller at 612-308-1810 for more information or to arrange a tour of the school.
