FRIDLEY

Fridley proceeds with its air quality project The Fridley School District is updating the heating and air quality systems in its schools. The project, which will affect all Fridley schools, includes replacing old boilers and ventilation systems with more energy-efficient systems and installing energy-efficient windows.

District officials estimate the renovation work can save them as much as $200,000 in energy costs a year. In some of the schools, the heating and ventilation infrastructure is 40 or 50 years old. The work is expected to be completed by fall.

OSSEO

Senate education panel to visit Osseo The state Senate Education Committee will make a fact-finding visit on Monday to the Osseo district's Edgewood Elementary School. The school, at 6601 Xylon Av. N. in Brooklyn Park, houses the district's science, math and technology magnet school program.

The committee is visiting the district in preparation for its work during the legislative session, which begins Feb. 12.

ANOKA-HENNEPIN

Anoka-Hennepin to hold STEM fair Anoka-Hennepin schools will hold a science, technology, engineering and math fair at Blaine High School on Jan. 12. The fair, the largest of its kind in the state, has more than 1,000 participants and is open to all K-12 students.

Public viewing of sixth- through 12th-grade projects will be from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Viewing of elementary school projects will be from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Awards will be given out from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for middle school and high school projects, and from 2:45 p.m. to 3 p.m. for elementary school projects.

MOUNDS VIEW

Mounds View to hold enrollment nights The Mounds View School District is hosting a series of enrollment information nights this month at every school. The sessions are aimed at families of next year's kindergarteners, district students entering sixth or ninth grade next year, and non-public school and nonresident students exploring school options in the district.

Enrollment information nights are: 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Monday at Irondale and Mounds View high schools; at 7 p.m. Tuesday at district middle schools; and at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at elementary schools.

ROBBINSDALE

Family registration night to be held Eighth-grade students in the Robbinsdale School District are invited to the district's Family Registration Night at 7 p.m. on Monday at the school where they intend to enroll. Robbinsdale Armstrong and Cooper high schools are located, respectively, at 10635 36th Av. N., Plymouth, and 8230 47th Av. N., New Hope.

Teachers, principals, counselors and other staff will answer questions and describe course offerings.

Robbinsdale Cooper's registration night will take place in the cafeteria. Robbinsdale Armstrong's event will be in the auditorium.
