A strategic planning team for South Washington County Schools has been named and asked to develop goals for the district's Pathway to Excellence plan.
The group is a mix of community and staff members representing the various cities, schools, choice programs, civic leaders, staff and administrators across the district. The committee will meet Thursday and Saturday to develop goals that will provide a renewed direction for the district.
Members of the team are Marsha Adou, Douglas Ballinger, Marguerite Baumer, Dave Bernhardson, Joel Bexell, Leslee Boyd, Tracy Brunnette, Aaron Bushberger, Robyn Flaherty, Jim Gelbmann, Chuck Goetz, Denise Griffith, Aaron Harper, Todd Herber, Laurie Johnson, Ron Kath, David Kemper, Gary Kressin, Mynda Lewis, Jamie Mair, Katy McElwee-Stevens, Peter McNiff, Erin Metoxen, Beth Neu, Julie Nielsen, Jen Peterson, Ernie Pines, Mark Porter, Rich Radke, Keith Ryskoski, Jim Schrankler, Becky Schroeder, Amy Scoggins, Melissa Shaw, Kate Skappel, Rick Spicuzza, LaToya Turk-Hill, Mike Vogel and Russ Williams.

FOREST LAKE
School honored for expanded AP accessForest Lake High School recently was recognized by the College Board as an Advanced Placement Achievement school. The school is one of 388 across the nation recognized for expanding AP access and improving performance.
From 2008 to 2010, Forest Lake Schools increased the number of students participating in AP from 238 to 343 while improving the percentage of students earning AP exam scores of 3 or higher, the score typically needed to earn college credit, from 46 percent in 2008 to 53 percent in 2010, according to the College Board.
Participants sought for school festivalForest Lake will celebrate "the many cultures [in its] schools and communities," at a free event April 15. Organizers are looking for people who are interested in sharing information on a specific culture or country in an interactive booth format. Booths may include maps, traditional clothing, crafts, games or samples of food.
