Fifty years after the assassination of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., the MLK Holiday Breakfast “Building Bridges for a Bold Dream” welcomed a capacity crowd to the Armory in Minneapolis.

The annual event remembers King’s dream of an America where the content of one’s character matters more than the color of one’s skin.

The keynote speaker was actor/producer David Oyelowo, who portrayed the civil rights leader in the 2014 film “Selma.”

Proceeds benefit the United Negro College Fund’s Minneapolis chapter.
