For one evening, the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis was transformed into Paris circa 1880. Doormen greeted guests, and elegant flower arrangements filled the reception area.
The annual fundraiser, this year dubbed La Grande Jatte Soirée, featured Broadway star Bernadette Peters and the opening of “Sunday in the Park With George,” inspired by the Georges Seurat painting “A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.”
Proceeds help make Guthrie programming accessible to Twin Cities high school students.
