Swingy jazz music filled the air of the Metropolitan Ballroom in Golden Valley, transforming the traditional venue into a speakeasy — at least for the night.

Guests dressed in their Roaring ’20s best to support COLLIDE Theatrical Dance Company, the Twin Cities’ newest home for professional dancers. The mission of the nonprofit performing arts company is to collaborate with artists of different genres to create original, Broadway-style jazz dance musicals.

Pinstripe-suited men donned fedoras, while women showed off satin dresses and cloche hats for red-carpet photos — complete with Tommy gun props. The highlight of the evening was, of course, a live jazz dance performance.
