Car buying: Be prepared

Consumer and automotive experts remind car buyers to be prepared when shopping for a new ride. "The first piece of advice is the Boy Scout motto, `be prepared,'" says Melanie Webber of Myride.com. She was recently quoted in an article on the website of Miami's WPLG-TV. "And there's no reason you can't be prepared, because everything you need to know you can find on the Internet." Indeed, as the WPLG article points out, the Internet is a huge source of information about cars: "Any informed shopper should spend some time clicking away before setting foot on a showroom floor." Before visiting a dealership and talking with a sales representative, informed shoppers can find out a stunning amount of information, such as the average price of the model they are seeking, what options are available and even what financing choices might be available. Indeed, our own automotive website, Startribune.com/cars, has helpful information for car shoppers. To read the entire article, visit WPLG's website at Local10.com.
