Minnetonka wins in Breakdown

• MINNETONKA 92, RICE LAKE (WIS.) 81: The Skippers, ranked No. 6 in Class 4A, withstood a 48-point effort by Rice Lake's Henry Ellenson in the Breakdown Classic at the Hopkins Lindbergh Center. Seth Coatta scored 26 points — 22 in the first half — and Justin Moes scored 19 to lead the Skippers. The 6-10 Ellenson, who has committed to Marquette, was 20 of 35 from the field. Ellenson also had 15 rebounds and five blocked shots for the Warriors. His brother Wally is a former Gopher.

• NORTH SCOTT (IOWA) 67, DELASALLE 64: Cortez Seales scored 30 points and Marlon Stewart 21 to help the Lancers outlast the Islanders in the Breakdown Classic. Sacar Anim scored 21 to lead the Islanders, ranked No. 1 in Class 3A.

Park Center finishes strong

• PARK CENTER 69, DELANO 54: MiKayla Hayes scored 17 points to lead the Pirates, ranked No. 1 in Class 3A, over the Tigers in the Breakdown Classic. The Pirates, the defending Class 3A state champion, led by six at halftime, but the Tigers opened the second half with a 13-3 run to take a four-point lead. The Pirates outscored the Tigers 26-7 over the final 10½ minutes. Ann Simonet added 15 points for the Pirates. Bria Barfknecht scored 18 to lead the Tigers.

HOCKEY • BOYS

Hill-Murray starts fast

• HILL-MURRAY 5, BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 3: Zach Mills and Mark Reifenberger each scored two goals to rally the Pioneers, ranked No. 3 in Class 2A, past the Red Knights. The Red Knights, ranked No. 8 in Class 2A, led 3-1 after one period. The Pioneers got within 3-2 midway through the second period. Mills scored twice within a 5½-minute span to give the Pioneers a 4-3 lead. Reifenberger's goal with 13 seconds left clinched the victory.

• BLAKE 2, THIEF RIVER FALLS 1: Will Blake's goal with 32 seconds left lifted the Bears, ranked No. 5 in Class 1A, past the host Prowlers, ranked No. 9 in the same class. The Bears, who trailed 1-0 going into the third period, tied the game with 5:34 left on Chase Ellingson's goal — assisted by Blake and Tyler Lindstrom.

• ANDOVER 2, DULUTH EAST 2 (OT): Andover was outshot 9-0 in the overtime period, but fended off the Greyhounds as goalie Maddie Rooney made 41 saves.

HOCKEY • GIRLS

Eden Prairie edges 1A power

• EDEN PRAIRIE 3, EAST GRAND FORKS 2: Eden Prairie, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, scored twice in the third period to rally for the nonconference victory over the host Green Wave, ranked No. 6 in Class 1A. Angie Heppelmann's goal with 9:15 left broke the 2-2 tie.

• BLAKE 8, DULUTH 3: Carly Bullock scored three goals and Jordan Chancellor contributed a goal and four assists to lead the Bears, ranked No. 1 in Class 1A, to the nonconference victory.
