Wayzata 1, Minneapolis Southwest 0: Ethan Wagner scored in the second half to give the No. 1 Trojans a victory over the visiting Lakers in a Class 2A, Section 6 semifinal.
Wayzata will play St. Louis Park on Tuesday in the championship. The Orioles upset No. 2 Minneapolis Washburn 3-1.
St. Thomas Academy 4, South St. Paul 0: Vernon Lovegreen had two goals and two assists to lead the No. 3 Cadets past the visiting Packers in a Class 1A, Section 3 quarterfinal. Devin McGill and Aman Bird also scored for the Cadets. Matt Gellerman stopped nine shots for the Packers.
Orono 5, Monticello 0: Christian Babo scored two goals and Spencer Overturf had three assists to lead the No. 6 Spartans past the visiting Magic in a Class 1A, Section 6 semifinal. Guyvenson Mohs, Sam Bazil and Cole Wetterstrom also scored for the Spartans.
St. Paul Como Park 4, Hmong Academy 0: Kobby Owu scored two goals to lead the Cougars past the Warriors in a Class 1A, Section 4 quarterfinal. Mario Galindo had a goal and an assist, Ywa Nay Say had two assists and Kher Lin Kyaw had a goal for the Cougars.
Girls' soccer
Minneapolis Washburn 2, St. Louis Park 0: Lydia Ruppert and Marli Rajacich scored to lead the Millers, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, over the Orioles in a Section 6 semifinal. Lila Maus assisted on both goals. Senior Elinor Arneson made eight saves for the shutout. Arneson and the Washburn defense (14-1-1) have not allowed a goal since a road loss to East Ridge on Sept. 13.
Wayzata 3, Cretin-Derham Hall 0: Madison Lo earned the shutout against the Raiders. Lily Gilbertson kicked off the scoring with her a goal in the first half. Emily Dillon and Trinity Kristaine added second-half goals for the Trojans, ranked No. 2 in Class 2A. The win sets up a championship game between the top-ranked teams in Class 2A on Tuesday at Wayzata. The Trojans (14-0-3) were the No. 1 seed in the Section 6 playoffs.
