AFC: JETS AT BENGALS

3:30 p.m., Ch. 11

Last meeting: Bengals 37, Jets 0, Sunday in East Rutherford, N.J.

Jets by the numbers: Wild card entry and sixth seed at 9-7. Led the NFL in overall defense, passing defense and rushing offense, but were 31st in passing offense.

New York moment: Thomas Jones, left, was third in the NFL with 1,402 of the team's 2,756 yards. The Jets are in the playoffs for the sixth time in 12 years. They are the eighth team since the 1970 merger to lead the league in both rushing offense (172.3 yards per game) and total defense (252.3). Rookie QB Mark Sanchez's 63.0 rating ranks 28th out of 32 starting quarterbacks.

Bengals by the numbers: Won AFC North at 10-6, seeded third. Fourth in the NFL in overall defense and 24th in offense.

Cincinnati shuffle: Cedric Benson, left, rushed for 1,251 yards, eighth in the league. The Bengals are in their second playoff game in 19 years, and haven't won one since 1990. Carson Palmer's 83.6 passer rating was 16th in the league. The return of DT Domata Peko (knee) should help the Bengals. They had only 72 net yards vs. Jets on Sunday, lowest total in team history.

The line: Bengals by 2 1/2

Mark Craig says: Bengals by 7. Change of venue and elevated pressure on Jets rookie Sanchez reverses last week's Jets-Bengals outcome.

NFC: EAGLES AT COWBOYS

7 p.m., Ch. 11

Last meeting: Cowboys 24, Eagles 0, Sunday in Arlington, Texas.

Eagles by the numbers: Wild card entry and sixth seed at 11-5. Finished 11th in the NFL in total offense and 12th in defense.

Eagle droppings: Since Andy Reid became coach and Donovan McNabb, left, the quarterback in 1999, Philadelphia has won its first playoff game in seven consecutive postseason appearances. McNabb has nine playoff victories. Only seven quarterbacks have more, five Hall of Famers along with Tom Brady and Brett Favre. K David Akers has played in 17 postseason games, one shy of Brian Dawkins' team record.

Cowboys by the numbers: Won NFC East and third seed at 11-5. Second in total offense, ninth in defense.

Cowboy ropings: Dallas hasn't won a playoff game since the 1996 season. QB Tony Romo, left, ended regular season with touchdowns in 12 consecutive games. Dallas was the only NFL team with three receivers who had at least 20 catches and average 15.7 yards or better per catch: Patrick Crayton (16.8), Miles Austin (16.3) and Roy Williams (15.7). Dallas set team record with 6,390 total yards.

Line: Cowboys by 4.

Mark Craig says: Cowboys by 7. I'm tired of doubting the Cowboys. So, what the heck, I believe!
