Shane Gersich scored for North Dakota with 3 minutes, 18 seconds left to play to tie the score with Union at 2-2 and that's the way the nonconference game in Grand Forks, N.D., ended after a scoreless overtime. The No. 3 Fighting Hawks lost to the Dutchmen 4-1 in the opening game of the series.

Colton Poolman gave UND a 1-0 lead in the opening period. Union took the lead with two goals in the first three minutes of the third period. Brett Supinski scored at 1:56 and Ryan Scarfo 22 seconds later.

Peter Thome had 25 saves for North Dakota, Jake Kupsky 27 for Union.

Minnesota Duluth 3, MSU Mankato 1: Nick Swaney and Peter Krieger scored first-period goals to lead host UMD over the Mavericks. Ian Scheid scored for MSU Mankato, which outshot the Bulldogs 34-26. Hunter Shepard had 33 saves for UMD, Connor LaCouvee made 23 stops for the Mavericks.

Big Ten

Ohio State 5, Michigan 1: Christian Lampasso scored two goals and Tanner Laczynski had a goal and two assists to lead the No. 15 Buckeyes over the host Wolverines, ranked No. 17. Ohio State goalie Sean Romeo stopped 34 shots, 21 in the third period. The Buckeyes swept the series.

Michigan State 2, Penn State 2 (OT): Mitch Lewandowski's goal gave the Spartans a shootout win over the host Nittany Lions, which means an extra point in the Big Ten standings. Officially, though the game counts as a draw. Taro Hirose and Carson Gatt had goals in regulation for Michigan State. Evan Barratt and Trevor Hamilton, with 34 seconds left in the third period, scored for Penn State which won the first game of the series 7-2.

Mercyhurst 3, Wisconsin 2: Jason Ford and Seamus Malone scored for the host Badgers, who lost leads of 1-0 and 2-1.
