Kyle Osterberg and Bill Exell scored goals to give No. 1 Minnesota Duluth a 2-0 lead in the middle of the second period, and the visiting Bulldogs held on for a 3-1 victory over No. 2 Denver on Saturday night in the NCHC.

The Pioneers' loss ended their 15-game unbeaten streak — they had won the series opener 4-3 — and enabled UMD (11-3-2, 8-2 NCHC) to regain first place in the conference.

Evan Janssen of Denver (12-3-3, 6-1-3) scored just over three minutes after Exell's goal to make it 2-1. Joey Anderson scored an empty-net goal for the Bulldogs in the third.

St. Cloud State 4, Omaha 2: Judd Peterson had two goals as the No. 17 Huskies (8-7-1, 4-5-1) beat the No. 20 Mavericks (9-6-3, 4-4) for a series split.

Western Michigan 3, North Dakota 1: Wade Allison's goal at 12:28 of the third period broke a 1-all tie for the No. 18 Broncos (8-5-3, 4-5-1) in a win over the No. 18 Fighting Hawks (9-6-3, 3-4-1) in Grand Forks, N.D.

Michigan 4, Wisconsin 1: Alex Kile and Cutler Martin scored goals 1 minute, 13 seconds apart in the opening period to lead the host Wolverines (7-8-1, 1-3 Big Ten) over the Badgers (8-7-1, 1-1).

Minnesota State Mankato 3, Ferris State 2: C.J. Franklin scored the winner in the third period as the 16th-ranked Mavericks (10-6-2, 6-6-2 WCHA) beat the host Bulldogs (7-11-1, 6-7-1).

Bemidji State 3, Lake Superior State 2: Brendan Harms, Nate Arentz and Jay Dickman scored goals and the No. 13 Beavers (13-5-2, 13-1-2-2) held off the visiting Lakers (8-9-1, 5-8-1).
