Saints split with Indianapolis; Alex Kirilloff homers again

May 21, 2021 at 12:23PM

Jimmy Kerrigan's two-out, bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth inning gave the St. Paul Saints a 3-2 victory over Indianapolis on Thursday in the resumption of a suspended game from the night before.

Because of rain, that game was stopped after 7½ innings with the score tied 2-2. The Saints' runs came on Alex Kirilloff's two-run homer in the sixth.

The Saints lost 7-3 to the Indianapolis in the regularly scheduled game to fall to 6-9.

Kirilloff, on a Twins rehab assignment for a sprained wrist, started the game in left field — he was a DH on Thursday and sat out the resumed game— and hit a homer in the fourth.

Correction: The score of Thursday's game was incorrectly reported in an earlier version of this story.
