COLUMBUS, OHIO – The St. Paul Saints had their ace pitching, but Charlie Barnes gave up seven runs — six earned — on seven hits in five innings as the Saints lost 7-2 to the Columbus Clippers on Friday night. It was their third loss in a row.

The Clippers scored six runs in the second inning, three on Andres Gimenez's bases-clearing double.

The Saints' two runs came in the fourth as Mark Contreras was hit by a pitch with one out. Damek Tomscha followed with a double down the third base line and JT Riddle knocked them both home with a single to center.

The bullpen extended its consecutive scoreless innings streak to 17⅓. Ian Hamilton threw two shutout innings and Derek Law one.
