LOUISVILLE, KY. – The St. Paul Saints were held to two hits in losing to the Louisville Bats 6-3 on Thursday.

It was their second consecutive loss to the Bats after winning seven games in a row.

The teams were scheduled to play two seven-inning games — making up the rained out series opener on Tuesday — but the start of this game was delayed by rain, and they played one nine-inning game. A doubleheader is scheduled for Friday instead.

Tomas Telis hit a three-run homer for the Saints with two outs in the sixth inning, breaking up a no-hitter for the second time this season on a long ball.

That turned out to be the lone hit given up by Bats starter Bo Takahashi in six innings. He struck out seven, walked three.

Jhoan Duran pitched the first four innings for the Saints, giving up three runs and three hits. He struck out two, walked five and had two wild pitches.

Mark Contreras had the Saints' other hit.
