Sacha Dhawan may portray the earnest Manmeet, sweating it out in Mumbai on the NBC sitcom "Outsourced," but he hasn't actually been back to his mother country in years. That may explain why Dhawan, who got rave reviews for his work in both the stage and screen version of "The History Boys," is reading so much these days about his heritage.

"I'm really into reading books right now about India. You reach a certain age where you start missing your home history. I loved 'Shantaram' by Gregory David Roberts, which is going to be made into a film. It's an amazing story about an Australian guy who escapes from prison and his first port of call is Mumbai. He ends up living in the slums and becomes a sort of doctor. "
