Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio will join rookie Alexey Shved next week in Houston in All Star Weekend's Rising Stars rookie-sophomore challenge.

Rubio was a late addition Thursday evening, a special "commissioner's" pick added to the game with Sacramento's Isaiah Thomas by Kenny Smith during the TNT cablecast that divided up the game's players between Team Chuck and Team Shaq.

Charles Barkley took Rubio with his fifth pick for Team Chuck.

Shved was the last player chosen for sides -- why can't I get Janis Ian out of my head? -- when Smith put him with Rubio on Team Chuck.

Here are the teams...

Team Chuck: New Orleans' Anthony Davis, Denver's Kenneth Faried, San Antonio's Kawhi Leonard, Washington's Bradley Beal, Cleveland's Tristan Thompson, Orlando's Nikola Vucevic, Sacramento's Thomas, Rubio and Shved.

Team Shaq: Portland's Damian Lillard, Cleveland's Kyrie Irving, Detroit's Andre Drummond, Golden State's Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes, Houston's Chandler Parsons, Cleveland's Dion Waiters and Tyler Zeller, Charlotte's Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and Kemba Walker.

Rubio played in the game last year along with Derrick Williams, who was not chosen this year.
