An 83-year-old Roseville woman reported missing since Sunday was found dead in her van, apparently after suffering a medical emergency that led to her vehicle going down an embankment and into a wooded area in Arden Hills, authorities said Wednesday.

The body of Marcella Boerger was discovered by Ramsey County sheriff's deputies about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. She was behind the wheel of her van on the south side of County Road F and about a quarter-mile east of Hamline Avenue, police said.

"It appears Marcella Boerger experienced a medical emergency," Roseville Police Chief Rick Mathwig said in a statement. "The vehicle did not experience heavy damage and came to rest in a heavily wooded area not visible from the roadway."

Boerger was last seen about 7 p.m. Sunday, according to police, leaving a home in the 1200 block of Wyncrest Lane in Arden Hills.

Soon after the disappearance, police noted that Boerger had a history of heart problems and did not have her daily medications with her.

Boerger's cause of death will be determined by the Ramsey County medical examiner's office.
