Vikings quarterbacks coach Kevin Rogers and former NFL coach Mike Martz appear to be the finalists for the Chicago Bears' offensive coordinator's job and there is speculation a decision could come today.
Rogers interviewed in Chicago on Thursday and Martz met with Bears officials on Friday. Rogers met with executives from the team and also talked with quarterback Jay Cutler. Martz only met with team execs on Friday but reportedly went to Nashville to talk to Cutler on Saturday.
There has been talk that Rogers could be a candidate for offensive coordinator's jobs in the college ranks at Syracuse and Virginia but that isn't the case. Syracuse coach Doug Marrone also is going to double as the team's offensive coordinator. Virginia, meanwhile, hired former Seattle Seahawks assistant Bill Lazor as its offensive coordinator.
That would seem to indicate that if Rogers does not end up in Chicago, he will return for a fifth season with the Vikings.
