Rock the Garden is going on an island hop.
Walker Art Center's annual summer music festival, running just one day--June 18 -- rather than two this year, will move to Boom Island on the Mississippi River in northeast Minneapolis because major construction at the Walker will make its usual field-next-door locale off limits.
The eight bands playing on two stages will be announced at 9 a.m. April 5, with tickets going on sale at 10 a.m. to members of the Walker and MPR's The Current, which cosponsors the fest. General tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. the next day, April 6.
