Rochester John Marshall grad to play basketball Down Under

Matthew Hurt, the Mr. Basketball Minnesota winner in 2019, has signed a contract to play in the Australian National Basketball League.

Hurt, a 6-9 forward who played at Rochester John Marshall and Duke, signed a one-year contract with South East Melbourne on Monday. The Australian season begins in September.

Hurt, 24, appeared in eight NBA games for the Memphis Grizzlies last season, averaging 4 points per game. Hurt spent the past three seasons playing for the Memphis Hustle in the NBA G-League. Last season he averaged 20.5 points and 7.3 rebounds in 22 games.
