A 39-year-old woman admitted Tuesday to fatally shooting her ex-husband in the forehead in his central Minnesota apartment. She also faces allegations that she did the same to her boyfriend in a northern Wisconsin motel room a few days later.

Angelina M. Omara, of Rice, Minn., pleaded guilty in Benton County District Court to first-degree murder in the death on Oct. 29, 2011, of James K. Omara, 43, of Cold Spring, Minn.

Omara's plea came on the day that the jury trial was to start. Her sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 21.

Angelina Omara was arrested in Sioux Falls, S.D., on Nov. 3, 2011, soon after her boyfriend, Michael Pies, 36, was found dead in a motel room in Ashland, Wis. She is charged with first-degree murder in his killing.

The bodies of Pies and James Omara were found with pillows over their heads and both had gunshot wounds to their heads, according to police.

A friend of James Omara told police that Angelina Omara had been staying with her ex-husband for a few weeks before the killings and that Pies had been threatening James Omara.
