The original lineup of Faux Jean is getting back together to play the Uptown Bar one more time next Thursday (Oct. 29), and a night later (Oct. 30) the fellas of Janis Figure have a reunion show booked there. Also, the Deaths and the Bloodshot -- both of whom haven't played much of late -- will be there this Wednesday. And you knew that Dumpster Juice had to do one last throwdown at the bar, which will be this Friday.

The final show on Nov. 1 is being billed as "The Hawaii Show and friends." I've heard all kinds of guesses who the friends might be, but nothing solid enough for even a blog report. Check the bar's site for ticket info.

Hanging out at the bar this past Saturday -- for grade-A sets by two bands that relied on the place as a breeding ground, the Honeydogs and Mystery Palace (led by 12 Rods' Ryan Olcott) -- I got an update on the ongoing discussion of the bar possibly relocating. It seems there's enough investment for it to happen, and there are a few possible locations in the area to choose from. Dumpster Juice frontman Chris Rowland, who has worked wonders co-helming The Bulldog in northeast Minneapolis, has also reportedly been involved.

The linchpin to the whole thing, however, is whether or not the bar can keep its current liquor license instead of having to get a new "60-40" liquor license (food/alcohol ratio). A petition is being circulated at the bar asking the city to support the transfer, please stop by to sign it.
