Reports: Tomlinson close to deal with Jets

It sounds like LaDainian Tomlinson could become a member of the Jets by today or tomorrow, according to several media outlets.

Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reported that Tomlinson and the Jets are close to deal, according to three sources close to the former Chargers running back. One source told Acee that it's a "done deal" while a second one said nothing is finalized.

Also Sports illustrated's Jim Trotter, who is very close to Tomlinson, indicated via twitter that the process is moving toward that conclusion. And ESPN's Chris Mortensen said in a tweet "LT & Jets are walking down aisle toward the altar."

UPDATE: Acee tweeted that he spoke to Tomlinson, who told him that he hasn't made up his mind yet.

UPDATE II: ESPN is reporting that Tomlinson's agent Tom Condon is negotiating with both the Vikings and Jets today to try and finalize a deal. A source told ESPN's John Clayton that Condon isn't sure which way the talks will go. Here is that report.
