MANKATO -- The Vikings are due to begin reporting to training camp here at 4 p.m. today and Chip and I will be there to get player reaction. We'll have about three hours of access so we'll only see some of the players who arrive. Certainly a few will come in later this evening.

Check back to the blog and twitter -- www.twitter.com/juddzulgad and www.twitter.com/chipscoggins -- for updates. Any news that breaks while we're in front of the new dorm the Vikings will use we will post to twitter and then get on the blog as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, we're still waiting for second-round running back Toby Gerhart to come to terms with the Vikings. Cornerback Chris Cook agreed to a four-year deal that carries a maximum value of $5.37 million and contains a $2.3 million signing bonus. Cook also received $3.3 million in guarantees, which is a 10 percent increase on the guaranteed money. That is the largest in the round.

As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
