Report: Perretta to return to Vikings

The wide receiver, who was with the Vikings in training camp, said he will join the team's practice squad

September 29, 2009 at 12:36AM

Wide receiver Vinny Perretta told the Idaho Statesman that he has been asked to join the Vikings practice squad.

Perretta went to training camp with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent but was let go in the final cuts before the regular season. He had been working out in Boise and told the Statesman that he is scheduled to travel to Minnesota on Tuesday.

If Perretta is signed to the practice squad that means the Vikings will have to take a player off that eight-man unit. Right now, the members of the practice squad are: safety Colt Anderson; quarterback John David Booty; offensive tackle Chris Clark; center Jon Cooper; running back Ian Johnson; defensive tackle Tremaine Johnson; tight end Garrett Mills; and wide receiver Nick Moore.
